Afrodite’s cunning game |

She came in riding through the backdoor
of which she didn’t mind as she was confident
she’d be victorious anyhow
after having set the stage–no the encounter wasn’t accidently
as we were made to believe–
she orchestred the scenes
and waited, smiling.

She put a spell on her beloved character
a test to see if indeed she had learnt to
break free from a magnetic electricity so very much–
too much familiar often, to be recognized.

The curtains openend, Love began its trickery.

Only with a counterpart worthy of her qualities
having traversed some rivers himself
evenly unable to steer his intentions straight much of the time
eloquent, that he needed to be above all
a fast thinker and a dreamer at the same time
else he would not be able to charm her
into entering the scenes of surrender.

A Course in Miracles couldn’t save her
De Mello couldn’t save her
Byron Katie made her entry on stage and made
things bearable, relatable and seemingly chosen of free will
while only the lady in the front row was doing the willing.

The dance was being danced
majestically strong no matter distance and time
or the rarity of holding hands
for he was able to weave her a new heart made by tales
of ruby silkness softening her fear of being rejected
while feelings of being rejected and belittled and not being heard were all
being fought and withstood until most were conquered, by both.

Even conscious of it she was unable to move beyond the force
for Love was, and loving him the best way possible was,
feeding her with a relentless compassion.
The addicition, the emotional pattern, the foolishness
blurred by another grand value: personal growth; Insights or mirage?

The second act, the moment when most people first celebrate,
revealed his unknowing of her origin.
She had believed him worthy of holding space for the gift of her past,
her heritage–be it white,
thus casting another dark cloud over the idea of the ideal
a storm was brewing for them.

Anybody would find that this was not a love story one thinks of
when opening one’s heart to a lover, to a lover who seems such a perfect fit;
who actually is the perfect fit–for the matchmaker to enjoy some good drama.
It might take for the play to have a happy ending
for the Goddess to have mercy.
